1. VISIT THE COLOSSEUM
The Colosseum, located in the heart of Rome, is a colossal amphitheater built during the Flavian dynasty in AD 70-80. This iconic structure once hosted gladiator contests, animal hunts, and public spectacles, accommodating up to 80,000 spectators. Only one word is appropriate to describe it….COLOSSAL! There is an admission fee to enter the Colosseum, but you can walk around the exterior and even get quite close to the structure without having to pay any entrance fees! If you’re willing to splurge, there are plenty of guided tours of the Colosseum you can take to really understand the history of this iconic structure.
2. SPRINT UP THE SPANISH STEPS
The Spanish Steps are a famous set of 135 steps that climb the slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and the Trinità dei Monti church at the top. Built in the 18th century, the steps are an iconic symbol of Rome. You can climb the steps and enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the city.
3. PEOPLE WATCH AT PIAZZA NAVONA
Piazza Navona, a vibrant square in the heart of Rome, is a beautiful area of town that has ornate fountains and is surrounded by cute cafes. It’s a perfect spot for people-watching.
4. PEEK AT THE PANTHEON

On the first Sunday of every month, you can enter the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, two amazing tourist destinations for free! Keep in mind that these are very busy days so you should expect very long lines.
